OFF BEAT COMMUNITY HUB

The Off Beat Community Hub is the room I practice from, based in Farnham, Surrey. It was established in May 2025, responding to a need for sanctuary and stability in the communities I serve. If you're interested in starting counselling in-person, you can view the space on this page. Most appointments are available as a flexible hybrid arrangement. It's possible to do a mixture of online and in-person if needed so even if you're far away, we could occasionally meet in person too.

The space also is available to sublet on an hourly or full/partial day basis, suitable for therapists seeing clients, small (and quiet) gatherings, or even those who work from home but want a secluded office space with a range of seating options.

To express an interest in renting the room, please fill out this form. Please not I am not able to sublet to current or former clients.

The vision

*Please note photos here show the room brand new, without artwork and other finishing touches - new photos will be uploaded to reflect the space as it evolves*

While the room is open to everyone and I see clients of all identities here, it decorated in a way that’s reflective of my work with the LGBTQ+ community. With the decor, I have emulated elements of queer history and culture. My initial starting point was the living rooms and bedrooms I spent time in as a trans teenager and activist; think comfy sofas, space for lots of people and pride flags on the wall, which is represented through the soft furnishings, artwork, pops of colour and ‘community corner’. I also wanted it to be elevated and suitable as a therapy space, hence the mid-century furniture and leather chairs. My clients also deserve a bit of luxury so I took inspiration from Victorian Molly Houses; early iterations of gay venues with hints of feminine charm and luxurious textures.

This space won’t be for everyone, but it will mean a lot to those who resonate with it.

About the space

The room is set up for therapy, consisting of a three-seater sofa and matching armchair. There is a desk in front of the window with the option of a Pipersong meditation/cross legged chair, plus a standard office chair option. There will also soon be beanbags and floor cushions, offering a variety of seating options.

'Community Corner' contains snacks, drinks, a water dispenser, a community noticeboard and a free pantry/library. Art supplies and creative materials are available for use, as well as a library of books.
